Yee Haw! Welcome

The Torah of Abraham

Nearly 4,000 years ago, Abraham received the Torah (Gen. 26:5). He passed those instructions to his son Isaac and to his grandson Jacob until Jacob's fifteenth year, when Abraham died. The Patriarchal Family Torah continued through Jacob to his eleventh son, Joseph. Jacob recorded the mechanics of that Torah and wove them into a coat of many colors for Joseph to wear as a reminder of those lessons (Gen. 37:3).

Tragically, Jacob's older sons rebelled against their father and brother and destroyed the coat; all was lost—until now (Gen. 37:31–36).

The Torah has two sides. Moses presented only the second side to the people because they could not bear to hear Hashem's voice directly (Ex. 32:15–16). The first side—the Torah of the Patriarchs—was not revealed again until today.

Reach back through the generations where Abraham sat by the fire teaching Torah, and to learn what our forefathers longed to have written on our hearts (Jer. 31:33).

Let's begin.
